While the event was hosted at the 18|8 Barrington salon, Shakou Sushi of Barrington and Einstein Bagels donated snacks to event for everyone at the event. We also had an amazing group of volunteers dedicate their time on a Sunday afternoon to make the event possible. To learn more about the St. Baldrick’s foundation and the work that they do, you can visit their website at: https://www.stbaldricks.org/
The Result: Smiles All Around
There was a great crowd that came out to the salon for the event, and a total of 12 people of all ages got their heads shaved in support of a great cause. From all of the participants and their families who came out to offer support and encouragement, there were smiles and laughs all around for an overall good time. Even one of the owners of Shakou Sushi sat down in the barber chair and got his head shaved.
How You Can Help The Cause
We are still accepting donations for St. Baldrick’s through the end of March, so you can still do your part and make a difference in a child’s life. We will continue to be donating $25 from every 18|8 membership sold, and $5 from every nose waxing service provided during the month of March, which you can learn more about on our specials page. To encourage even more support and donations, we’re raffling off gift certificates for 18|8 Barrington and Shakou Sushi. If the donations and community efforts continue as they have, we expect to raise over $2000 for the St. Baldrick’s foundation by the end of the month.
